Baikaldream

My name is Pavel Szyk, from Poland. I work as volunteer in Children’s Library in Nizhny Novgorod. I have been traveling around Russia for 4 weeks.

Till I was a child I dreamed about trans Siberian journey and Baikal lake. I have read lots of books and I always could look at map for hours. And finally I was in the train – my dream come truth.

I have visited the biggest cities on the way to Baikal, such as: Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk, Ulan-Ude and Chita. They are very beautiful, each of them is different and have specific atmosphere.

Especially I liked Baikal. I have traveled around lake and it is very big and different. Very interesting for me was the Republic of Buriatia. This place has very interesting history, geology and lots of different religions and cultures. It was fascinating for me.

I met very kind people, cultures and amazing natures. This trip was much better than my dream.
